The Catholic Church often gets a reputation as being too strict when it concerns sexual morality.
But the Church is concerned with the well-being of souls, not the acquiescence to sin. In her apparition in Fatima, Our Lady clearly said “More souls go to Hell because of sins of the flesh than for any
other reason.”

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states: "Both the Magisterium of the Church, in the course of a constant tradition, and the moral sense of the faithful have been in no doubt and have firmly maintained that masturbation is an intrinsically and gravely disordered action.”

But the Church understands the struggle for purity. It is not seeking to condemn people for sins of lust, but to instead gently guide people to true happiness found in purity.

The first step that anyone viewing pornography needs to do is admit that what they are doing is wrong and that they need to change. If you or someone you know struggles with pornography and masturbation, Integrity Restored offers a Free e-book: “7 Steps To A Porn Free Life”.
