You’re welcome Marie! Leaning in and listening to the promptings of the Holy Spirit is always the first step!

kimmy - October 26, 2016 2:39 pm

oh thank you for sharing each step, and for most likely helping this young man by taking a different, a new start to a new path. God blessings over you and your family.

That’s something that I’m still learning! If I knew all of the wonderful adventures that I would go on once I started trusting in the Lord, I would have trusted Him a lot sooner!

I really appreciate that you took us step by step with what you did. It makes it so much easier for the rest of us to do the same.

Mary, I hope that, if ever the opportunity arises, you’ll be able to be courageous for the Lord!

You, obviously, just had an encounter with the Holy Spirit through this young man!
We miss you at SHCC, but we are glad you are just around the corner in case we need a speaker, who is speaking through the heart!

Linda

I am blessed by your description of this encounter. I’m afraid I’ve not been as charitable. When I was walking through the library one day with my 4 children in tow, we walked past the public computers and a man was watching explicit pornography right there! I was so shocked at his brazenness, I didn’t know what to do. I also didn’t want my small children to see anything. But I did march up to the help desk and reported him to the librarians on duty. The Lady rolled her eyes, sighed, and said to her male colleague, “would you please go look into this again?” Lord have mercy, I was not holy enough to invoke the Holy Spirit, and my Mama-Bear instincts wanted to do violence to that man. Perhaps next time, with your influence, I’ll turn to prayer more quickly. Thank you for your article.

Thank you for sharing that took guts. I have talked to coworkers and friends. It seems to me not enough people talk about porn being bad. Some women are ok with porn yet have body image issues. I am glad I don’t watch porn. I am working through my issues, and trying to drag as manny as I can out of porn use.

It sounds like you have guts too, Roger. Sharing with friends, coworkers, and people close to us is sometimes harder than sharing with strangers.

Hi Chika! Thank you for this article, and more importantly, thank you for your witness! You came to my hometown of Wapakoneta, OH, on NET, and I remember you (mostly because of your name and picture, and sure enough the description says you did NET). Thank you for your choice to witness. I actually did NET ’14-15, and served on the Providence team, and I wanted to tell you that you are a part of that story, of my story. What you did back then, and what you are doing now for Christ is so beautiful, and it did and does matter. I remember meeting and chatting with you briefly on retreat, and I remember being struck by your confidence in Christ. Watching you lead that team, and taking your sisters under your wings was beautiful. Thank you for being you. Wishing you so much joy and so much peace, 🙂

Whoa! Praise be to God, Amanda!
Ohio was one of my favorite places on the road because of how beautiful it is (a sunrise or sunset over a cornfield is just magnificent!) and also because of how generous the families are!
I thank GOD for my time on NET because it really taught me how to pray, serve, and live with intention and I’m happy to read that you served!
Be assured of prayers. And who knows, maybe I’ll see you at an Alumni event!

Chicka! All that needed to happen for this encounter. Praying for fortitude to not chicken out is so needed in my life! Simple and loving. Amazing. Thank you for sharing!

    Thank you Holly!
Through our Baptism and Confirmation, we graced with the Gift of the Holy Spirit of Fortitude. It allows us to be courageous in the face of adversity and temptation. Pray for the Holy Spirit to stir that gift into a flame so that you are ready to use it at a moments notice!

Great story and God bless you!
Very encouraged, especially by your seeking the Holy Spirit immediately.
Thanks!
