Thanks for this Matt. I recently purchased the Porn Kills Love t-Shirt – my 11 year old asked me the same question, now I have an answer.

Great post Matt! I’ve been pondering what to say to my oldest when he asks. Praise God for the grace to respond as you did!

This is so great. I know it’s a question that all parents need to be prepared to answer well, and this is such a good method and building process. Thank you for sharing this with us so that we can all be stronger and better in our own answers and strengthen our children against the dangers of pornography as well.

Thanks for the post Matt. This is brilliant, just brilliant. As a parent of two boys, the thought of them viewing pornography scares me to death. We need every tool we can get our hands on in this porn culture that we live in.

Glory be to Jesus Christ! His glory be forever!

Thank you for modeling such an honest, gracious, and loving way to respond to a child’s question about pornography. I love your kid-friendly examples and the way you make such sense to a child! When you read Good Pictures Bad Pictures to your son, I hope it will be a very positive and empowering experience for both of you. Keep up the great work!!! And thanks so much for telling parents about Good Pictures Bad Pictures!

My younger brother asked me this question and when I tried explaining it to him using your chocolate covered poison example, he asked me if porn was something you eat…
Well now I know that he’s not the brightest of lads

I am glad that you are tackling this topic. Someone will be saved from this trap because of you. If you work your whole life and save only one, it will be worth it. Thank you. I am sure you will save more than one however. Just always imagine you are talking to that one. K

I ordered the book you mentioned. It arrived & I threw it in the garbage bin! Wasted $$. I cannot believe you would read such a book to your young (7yo) child. You said you’d be using the book with him in the coming weeks? Wow. A pretty involved book for a 7yo.

This is so important and I’ve never seen it discussed anywhere before. God bless you for your work.

Great article Matt! Solid answer, solid advice. I encourage parents to handle questions like that the same way.

I believe I follow The Porn Effect on Twitter. I’m getting ready to more fully launch my ministry, Right Time Right Talk, which is geared towards equipping parents to become the expert’s with their children about God’s gift of sex.

I’m going to post this blog article in my FB page.

Keep up the good fight!
