Dr. Peter Kleponis has over 20 years of professional experience working with individuals, couples, families, and organizations. He specializes in marriage & family therapy, pastoral counseling, resolving anger, men’s issues, and pornography addiction recovery.

Peter holds an M.A. in Clinical-Counseling Psychology from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, PA, and a Ph.D. in General Psychology from Capella University in Minneapolis, MN.

It seems like pornography has permeated every facet of our culture, especially technology. Dealing with it can feel like a “cyberbattle.” Fueled by the belief that “sex sells”, our culture has become hyper-sexualized. Through television, movies, the Internet, and social media, pornography has never been more accessible. This has led to a dramatic increase in pornography use and addiction. Catholics are not immune to this. Pornography use and addiction have harmed millions of Catholic individuals, couples, and families. As a Catholic therapist who specializes in sexual addictions, Dr. Kleponis will present the truth about pornography: how it is affecting our culture and how it is enslaving millions in addiction. Special emphasis is placed on how pornography fills people with shame and robs them of their dignity as children of God.

Many Catholic parents today are aware of the dangers of the Internet, particularly Internet pornography. They want to protect their children, but may not know how. In this presentation, Dr. Kleponis discusses tools and strategies for protecting families online. This includes using the latest software to filter and monitor internet use. He discusses how to protect young children on the internet while educating teens on the dangers of the Internet and social media. In addition, Dr. Kleponis discusses providing an-age appropriate education in healthy sexuality, intimacy, and relationships based on Catholic teaching. Moreover, Dr. Kleponis presents the warning signs that your child may be struggling with internet pornography and ways to help him/her. The ultimate goal is to help parents provide a safe environment where kids can grow into healthy young adults.
