7 Signs Your Child is a Porn Addict

Confronting your child about his porn addiction is a daunting task for any parent. Are you sure it’s porn? Maybe it’s just teenage hormones… or trouble at school… or any host of other issues.

If you suspect your child may be addicted to porn, you should know the signs before you discuss this with him or her. Here are seven signs you should be on the lookout for before you have “the talk” with your child:

1. Suddenly changing activities or switching off the device when you walk up. It’s common enough. No one likes to be “found out.” But you need your child to be straightforward with you. Don’t freak out on them. Simply ask, “What’s up? Mind if I see too?” It could be nothing.

2. Browser history is deleted whenever he or she uses the computer. We all delete our browser history from time to time, just to help our computers run more efficiently. But if you notice your history being deleted every time your child uses the computer, that’s a sign that something is up.

3. Browser history and/or “recent documents” show sexually suggestive names. It’s time to have a conversation with him or her.

When it comes to porn and your children, the best offense is a good defense. That’s why Integrity Restored has put together our free eBook Six Things You Can Do Right Now To Protect Your Kids From Porn. It has all the tips you need to ensure a porn-free life for your kids.

4. Sudden change in personality or behavior. Children who are viewing pornography often manifest depression, irritability, or even aggressive behavior, have trouble sleeping, or may lose their appetite.

5. He or she isolates themselves more and more frequently. Porn addiction heightens a child’s sense of shame, and he’ll try to hide his addiction by isolating himself behind closed doors.

6. Increased time spent online, especially at night. Porn is ridiculously easy to access online.

7. Overreacts when denied internet access. As with any other drug, a porn addict will likely lash out when his source is cut off.

Whether your children have already accessed porn or you’re ready to prevent them from doing so, this eBook will give you the first steps you need.
