So Here’s How Porn Hurts Your Brain
If you haven’t yet subscribed to our podcast, you can do that here.
Last week I wrote an article called, Wait, People Are Now Saying Porn Isn’t An Addiction? It was in response to more and more people out there—including those who think porn is bad—who are saying porn cannot be addictive. If you haven’t read that, I encourage you to do that before listening to today’s podcast.
In this podcast I interview Gary Wilson from YourBrainOnPorn.com about porn addiction, and throw several objections from the naysayers his way. We also geek out a lot about the neuroscience of addiction and how porn can literally damage your brain.
Here’s a bit about Gary:
Gary Wilson is author of Your Brain on Porn: Internet Pornography and the Emerging Science of Addiction and presenter of the popular TEDx talk ‘The Great Porn Experiment.’ He taught anatomy and physiology for years and has long been interested in the neurochemistry of addiction, mating and bonding. In 2015 the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health presented Gary Wilson with its Media Award for ‘outstanding media contributions and public education of “pornography addiction.”’
