5 Things Pamela Anderson Just Said About Porn
Pamela Anderson—as in the former Playboy model and actress—just cowrote an article for the Wall Street Journal entitled, Take the Pledge: No More Indulging Porn. I know, I’m in shock too. At first I thought it was a joke. But it isn’t.
Here are 5 powerful things she and her coauthor Rabbi Boteach had to say about porn:
1. “[Porn] is a public hazard of unprecedented seriousness.”
2. “[W]e have often warned about pornography’s corrosive effects on a man’s soul and on his ability to function as husband and, by extension, as father.”
3. “[W]e are a guinea-pig generation for an experiment in mass debasement that few of us would have ever consented to, and whose full nefarious impact may not be known for years.”
4. “What is required is an honest dialogue about what we are witnessing—the true nature and danger of porn—and an honor code to tamp it down in the collective interests of our well-being as individuals, as families and as communities.”
5. “[W]e must educate ourselves and our children to understand that porn is for losers—a boring, wasteful and dead-end outlet for people too lazy to reap the ample rewards of healthy sexuality.”
I am sorry that I couldn’t afford to go to NY for your conference. I am in Nursing School and writing a paper on the brain science involved in this addiction. Any information is greatly appreciated!!
